Of course that sounds silly – but it points to a major shift that has occurred in who and how and how often we connect with others.
There are bucket-loads of reasons we are faced with more ambiguity than ever before. Here is a short list:
Add to that the more mundane causes of ambiguity, such as lack of clear direction from the top, changing priorities, and difficult and complex situations – and your natural tendency may be to do one of these things:
I hate to break it to you – but all four approaches are doomed. Which leaves us in a bit of a conundrum: we need to DO something, but WHAT? The EAA process (my term – named after the vocal sounds I tend to make when challenged with ambiguity) may help you sort things out.
How resistance surfaces varies – from as suddenly and abruptly as slamming on the brakes, to as subtly as water drops slowly eroding the unyielding rock. Today’s post will help you identify the more passive forms resistance can take…..and has some ideas on getting past them.

We all have blind spots about ourselves and our performance. There are things we can’t see, things that we are unaware of, and ways others see us that we are totally oblivious to. I believe this is true with even the most self aware individuals.
Above all, I continue to have a deep belief that positive change is possible – for each person, for every family, for all organizations, and for our society and world. Note that I said possible – and not easy.
Problem solving is looking in the rear view mirror. It’s fixing something that was not right in the first place. Today things move so quickly, that you may be fixing something that is no longer needed.
