The Center for Creative Leadership, one of the premier leadership development centers in the world, describes today’s environment as volatile, uncertain, chaotic and ambiguous – or VUCA. I’ve certainly seen, felt and experienced the effect of this fundamental shift to faster and faster, foundational disruptions, and extreme uncertainty, in my work.
My desire to sort out what was working and what was not led to Evergreen Leadership. And Evergreen Leadership has led to the Evergreen Leadership Library – a collection of 10 eBooks that help you lead yourself and others in a VUCA world.
They’ve been over two years in the making – but this set of 10 downloadable eBooks is available here. Each eBook contains a Guide section and a Planner Section. The guide section walks you through, in a concise and clear fashion, relevant and tested concepts and approaches. The planner is a series of exercises that enables you to apply the concepts to your life and your world.
The series is designed to follow the process we use for leadership development – from inside to outside and from self to team. But each and every eBook can stand alone – so don’t feel as if you have to do them in order.
The series includes:
1. |
Your Unchanging Core: The Secret to Balance in a Turbulent World |
2. |
Truth Seeking: Leading in a World of Diverse Viewpoints |
3. |
Clarity: Envisioning a Better Future for Yourself and Others |

And if you need some external validation – here is what Tamar DeJong, Executive Director of Blue Mango, has to say about them:
I run a social enterprise for women in South India named Blue Mango. In July of 2013, Kris visited our program and conducted several mentoring sessions. Her Evergreen Leadership Series easily crossed the cultural barrier and spoke to the core of our collective human psyche. I wish that we had had access to her wisdom and knowledge in earlier days.
The guides were interactive, visually delightful, simple to follow, and inspiring. Developing leadership skills is inseparable from growing into a more integrated and healthy self. I found the exercises in the planners personally challenging and awakening.
Kris taught us how to identify our own potential in a positive and affirming way. She then guided us as we dreamed up ways to use our strengths as leaders in practical and enjoyable ways. The concept of ownership is embedded into her ethos. As leaders, we were challenged to draw out the best in ourselves and the best in others, changing the character of the organization. Her experience, knowledge of the subject matter, and enthusiasm was clearly evident.
Kris loves what she does, her personality shines throughout her series, and I couldn’t recommend Evergreen Leadership Series more.

And one final note – these guides were a labor of love for me, and quite a few others. A special note of gratitude to Rhonda Young, to Lori Tatum and to the clients who allowed me the latitude to test the content in the last few years.
