Steps for a 2 Minute Mini-vacation

 

  • Find a quiet place and get comfortable.
  • Set your watch or timer for two minutes.
  • Close your eyes.
  • In your mind’s eye, see a beloved place that brings you joy and peace. It may be the forest, the beach, a garden, or somewhere else that is magical for you.
  • Breathe deeply and slowly.
  • As you do, experience your special place, even if only in your mind. What does it feel like? Smell like? Sound like? How does it make you feel?
  • Continue to breathe deeply for your 2 minute hiatus.
  • At the end of your 2 minutes, stretch out your body and smile. Even 2 minute virtual vacations can be a welcome break.
